Special Note: Five New Chapters Now Online! elcome to "The Adventures Of Robin Boyd," the weekly series that first appeared in The Beat, the original rock newspaper, circa 1965. The story of this star-crazed (okay, crazed, period) teenybopper with magic powers began as a 12-part fiction serial. But Robin was such a hit with her audience, she blithered onward through more than 60 chapters, turning -into a real robin and flying off to terrorize-er-visit her faves. That audience was mostly sixties teenagers, but working Hollywood followed Robin¹s (mis)adventures, too, especially the music business. They say even the Beatles read Robin in her (not to mention their) heyday. Rumor had it that George Harrison and his bird got a kick out of the serial and thought it was about them (Patty Boyd shared her last name with Robin). In truth, that was only a coincidence. But the fact that Robin¹s "george-ous" British genie (the one she discovered in a tea pot) looked and sounded exactly like George Harrison? I think not. (Beatlemania was in short pants in those days and Robin did a lot of the panting.) I created Robin Boyd using the "alias" Shirley Poston for reasons explained elsewhere. I am reprinting her adventures for the first time since their original publication. I do this in loving memory of George and John too, bless them. Also for Pauley and Ringo. The gifts they gave the world are permanent. But if you've ever wished you could have been there when it all began, guess what. You're about to be.
